Spools for Mac requires macOS 26.4 or newer. One universal installer supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs running a supported macOS version.
The Mac download is not published yet. Please check back soon. You can still sign in on the web.
An invited General Motion account with Spools access is required. Downloading the app does not grant access. Join the waitlist if you don’t have access yet.
Install and connect
- Open the DMG and drag General Motion Storage to Applications. That is the current name of the Spools Mac app.
- Open the app from Applications. If prompted, enable its file system extension in System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions → File System Extensions.
- Sign in with your General Motion account, then connect a Drive. Your files appear under ~/General Motion in Finder.
Updating an existing installation
Let uploads finish, disconnect your Drives, and quit General Motion Storage. Download the new installer here and replace the app in Applications, then reopen it and reconnect. Updates are manual; there is no automatic updater.
